Read Assistant is a handy utility that makes it easier to organize and read your electronic books. Specifically, the program is a special viewer for your text files as well as DOC-, RTF- and HTML-formatted documents. It can also process and unpack support files that are stored in archives. Read Assistant offers an Explorer-style catalog for combining and accessing documents in folders and sub-folders on your computer. Among its useful features, the viewer can automatically scroll through an entire document. This function essentially offers hands-free reading. Text may be displayed in full screen, and the program ensures that your screen saver never interferes with your reading. The program provides a sliding scale for controlling scroll speed, and enables you to configure text size and background color. You`ll also find VCR-style buttons for navigating through large texts, and other tools for searching documents and bookmarking passages.
